Orpheus went avant-garde at the end of October with Soundstories music week. Under the supervision of music tutors Bing Lyle, Kate Daisy Grant, Nick Pynn and Steve Wrigley, students spent the week experimenting with the boundaries of what we know as ‘music’.

The students performed their musical creations in front of a sell-out audience in the Barn Theatre. The weird and wonderful performance featured not only music but film, dance, visual art and even an alien opera.

Orpheus student Chris West said: “I enjoyed taking part in Soundstories, it was fun. It was a different style to what we normally do. It wasn’t just singing songs, we were experimenting.”

Congratulations to all involved and thanks to the Blagrave trust for generously funding Soundstories.
